About the Weekend School

The Society supports an active weekend school to teach the German language to children from Kindergarten age to 8th grade. Classes are held Saturday mornings during the regular school year at the center (see directions). The weekend school is open to the public.

Steuben Parade – Saturday, September 11, 2010

All children are invited to participate, even if they are new to our school. Children should wear dirndls or leiwl/lederhosen or anything “German-like“. Parents are asked to accompany their children on the trip, since it will be difficult to adequately supervise them. If this is not possible, perhaps you can ask another family to supervise your child. I hope you will make every effort to participate, since this is an excellent opportunity to teach your children to be proud of their heritage. Parents are encouraged to march along, too! Be sure to visit the German Fest on Lincoln Avenue after the parade.
